Ready to come along to a meeting?

Oh exciting times! We’re so happy you’re going to join us! You can let us know that you are planning on coming along so we can arrange for someone to greet you to make sure you settle in and know the ropes but if you’d prefer you can just pop along to one of our meetings. If you would like to dip a cautious toe in the WI water please come along to a meeting as a guest, our guests pay £5 cash on the night. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm at Sherington Village Hall, which has on site car parking and disabled access.

How much does it cost to join?

Each WI Member pays a subscription fee to cover the cost of her membership and to help with running the organisation. The 2025/26 subscription is £51, which is set by the National Federation of Women’s Institutes, which is split between the WI, federation and the NFWI to help with running individual groups and the organisation as a whole.

A new member joining the WI for the first time (or who has not been a member of any WI in the 12 months before their joining the WI) pays a pro-rata subscription. This depends on when she joins, as shown below:

Date of joining in 2025/26 - Total subscription rate:

1 April to 30 June 2025  £51

1 July to 30 Sept 2025 £38.25

1 Oct to 31 Dec 2025 £25.50

1 Jan to 31 March 2026 £12.75

It’s a good question and one we’re happy to answer because the answer is lots! Lots includes:
